Same place - Vogelkijkhut

Enjoying the sight of wintering Tufted Ducks (Kuifeenden) in the special model of "bird watching cabin" (??? what is a vogelkijkhut in English ? ) at the Plaat van de Vliet (Zeeland).  It has a low level (a bit higher than the water level) and an upper level.  This picture is taken from the upper level, the previous one from the lowel level.

Motley parasol ( Grote parasolzwam, Macrolepiota procera)

A very pleasant wood is ‘de Clingse Bossen’ , just past the border in the Netherlands.  This small wood (180 ha) is the tail end of the wood ‘de Stropers’.  In the 13th century it belonged to an extended woodarea (het Koningsforeest) and that’s why these days you still can see gnomes in this wood ! (check the picture) Nice walking paths (3 and 5 km) attract a lot of visitors seeking some contact with nature and a fresh nose.

On the information board you read : specialty the Motley parasol and indeed in the grass at the parking place there they are !!  (it is typically a grassland fungus).

Or red

Also very impressive : the red colored leaves of what we call the American oak.  For the Americans themselves it is the Northern red oak (Quercus rubra).

Picture taken in ‘de Clingse bossen’.
